CONCERTO COMPETITION
The 21st Annual Concerto Competition produced by the Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra and generously sponsored by Great Northwest, Inc. will be held in Davis Concert Hall on January 28th and 29th, 2012. This annual event affords outstanding young musicians the opportunity to perform in concert with the Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra. A panel of two adjudicators will choose the winner in each category.

**All applications for competition must be received at the Fairbanks Symphony Office on or before December 16th, 2011 at 5:00pm.
Guidelines for The Concerto Competition
Saturday, January 28, 2012
- Category A-11 years and under-must not be older than 11 years on the date of the competition.
- Category B 12 years-15 years-must not be older than 15 years on the date of the competition.
Sunday, January 29, 2012
- Category C:16 years-18 years-must not be older than 18 years on the date of the competition.*
- Category D:UAF undergraduate student who is enrolled in a degree program.*
- Category E:UAF graduate student who is enrolled in a degree program*
- *Category D & E will be combined if there are less than 5 entrants in one of the categories.
- *Depending on number of entries, Category C may be moved to Saturday.
- Winners will perform winning concerto in the FSO Concert April 29, 2012 in The Charles Davis Concert Hall.
- Application Fee is $35 Non Refundable, All applications must be received at the Fairbanks Symphony Office on or before December 16th, 2011 at 5:00pm. This is not a postmark deadline.
- Contestants must check with the symphony librarian to determine the availability of orchestral parts prior to submitting their entry. Failure to comply may result in disqualification.
- Below there is a List of pre-approved competition pieces. If your piece is not on the indicated list, please call the FSO librarian at 474-5734.
- Please note only current 2011-2012 Concerto Competition Application forms will be accepted.
