Teresa Eickel

During the 2004-2005 season, Teresa Eickel made her debut in the role of Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly with Mobile Opera, a role she repeated with Ashlawn Opera Festival and the San Francisco Lyric Opera in 2005, and the Bear Valley Music Festival in August 2006. During the 2005-2006 season, Teresa made her debuts in the role Donna Anna in Don Giovanni with Opera Memphis and the role of Liù in Sacramento Opera's production of Turandot. She also made a successful debut in the role of Mimi in La bohème with Salt Marsh Opera and will be repeating the role with Treasure Coast Opera in 2007. Also in 2007, Teresa will be appearing as the soprano soloist in Vivaldi’s Gloria with the Alpha Omega Ensemble and as a featured soprano soloist in Salt Marsh Opera’s Gala Concerts in May and July.

A versatile actress, Teresa has also performed the roles of Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro with Opera Memphis, as well as Lost Her Moccasins in Opera Memphis’s premiere of Corps of Discovery. With Ashlawn Opera Festival, Teresa sang the role of First Lady in The Magic Flute; with Opera Theatre of Connecticut, Teresa performed the role of Gretel in Hansel and Gretel. She has also performed with Sarasota Opera and Connecticut Opera. She has performed recitals in collaboration with Ashlawn Opera and members of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. She has also appeared as a featured soprano soloist in a concert of operatic selections with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra.

Teresa is a three-time award winner of the Sergio Franchi competition and a 2006 recipient of the New Boston Fund Fellowship Award from the Hartford Arts Council.
